Community rules
1. Why these rules exist
At RADIO 001 you comment on tracks, send song requests, voice messages and feedback. To keep this a good place for everyone, a few clear rules apply. They cover every contribution, whether you send it from the website or the app.
These rules summarise what section 7 of our terms of use sets out in legal terms. In the event of any conflict, the wording of the terms of use prevails.
2. What makes a good contribution
- Stay on topic — the track, the show, the question at hand.
- Write the way you would want to be addressed. Criticism is welcome; insults are not.
- Short and clear beats long and loud. ALL CAPS reads as shouting.
- Argue with the point, not with the person.
- If you state something as fact, say where it comes from.
3. What we do not accept
- Illegal content of any kind.
- Hate speech and discrimination based on origin, nationality, colour, religion, belief, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation or identity.
- Threats and harassment, insults, bullying and incitement to violence.
- Personal data of other people — names, addresses, phone numbers or images without their consent.
- Spam and advertising, chain letters and repeatedly identical posts.
- Copyright infringement, such as posting someone else's text, images or lyrics without permission.
- Misleading information and demonstrably false statements of fact.
- Content contrary to the protection of minors, in particular pornographic content or the glorification of violence.
4. How moderation works
Every comment is read by a person from our editorial team before it appears. No algorithm and no automatic filter decides whether your contribution is published.
As a rule a contribution is reviewed within 24 hours. At busy times, overnight or on public holidays it may take a little longer. There is no entitlement to publication.
5. If your contribution is not published
If we do not publish a contribution, remove it or restrict functions of your account, we will tell you and explain the decision — naming the rule concerned.
You can object to the decision within six months. Write to [email protected]. Your complaint is reviewed by a person who was not involved in the first decision. Recourse to the courts remains open to you regardless.
6. How to report content
If you come across a contribution that breaches these rules or the law, please report it via the report content page or by email to [email protected]. Tell us where the content is and what you think is wrong with it. We confirm receipt and come back to you with our decision. We handle reports in these languages: Deutsch, English, Türkçe.
7. What happens after repeated breaches
The first time, we usually just remove the contribution and point you to the rule. If breaches continue, we restrict individual functions — comments or voice messages, for example. In serious or persistent cases we suspend the account temporarily or close it. We give reasons for these decisions too, and you can object to them.
8. Song requests and voice messages
The same rules apply to song requests and voice messages. In addition:
- Whether a request is played is decided by the editorial team according to the programme format. Not every request fits every show.
- Voice messages should be short and easy to follow. Do not mention other people's personal details.
- We may shorten voice messages for editorial reasons. They are broadcast only if you have expressly consented, and you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.
