A piece of pop history is coming back! For the 25th anniversary of her album 'Britney', a previously unreleased song by Britney Spears will be released that she recorded in 2001 together with her then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
The song 'She'll Never Be Me' was created in 2001 during work on Spears' third studio album 'Britney'. Although the track was written and recorded together with Justin Timberlake, it didn't make the cut for the album at the time.
Producer Alex Greggs explained that the song wasn't cut because of a lack of quality. Instead, the album already had enough strong tracks. Particularly interesting: Justin Timberlake can also be heard on the recording providing background vocals.
Anniversary Album Out in November
On November 6, 2026, the 25th-anniversary edition of 'Britney' will be released with five additional songs, including 'She'll Never Be Me'.
For fans the release is a special surprise, because Britney Spears had already said she did not want to return to the music industry.
